Post-battle analysis revealed that individual shield systems had performed within specifications — the problem was that each unit\'s shield operated independently, creating gaps between coverage zones that the Caxion exploited with surgical precision.

The Aegis Projector eliminates these gaps by creating a unified defensive field rather than individual shields. The device projects a dome of interlocking hexagonal barrier segments that covers a radius of approximately twenty meters from the projector. Each segment operates on a different frequency — a design borrowed from the Shield Array\'s multi-layer approach — but unlike individual shields, the segments are managed by a central AI that continuously adjusts coverage patterns in response to incoming fire direction and intensity.

The damage reduction effect is consistent and reliable: every Terran unit within the Aegis dome receives a baseline reduction in incoming damage as the barrier absorbs a portion of each attack\'s energy before it reaches the target. The reduction is not dramatic — approximately one unit of damage per attack — but across an entire formation taking sustained fire, the aggregate protection is substantial.
